This week’s guest is Jarrett Crader. We talk about his history of editing and proofreading RPGs and the launch of his new company Space Penguin Ink, and discuss the products he’s selling: Adrift by KD (for Mothership Sci-Fi Horror RPG), Beyond the Silver Scream by Forrest Aguirre (for DCC RPG), Distress Signals by Reece Carter (for Mothership Sci-Fi Horror RPG), Dread Nights by Will Rahman (a standalone expansion for Forbidden Psalm compatible with MÖRK BORG RPG), Garden of Corda by Cade Crites (for Troika! RPG).
We talked briefly about their upcoming books At the Mutants of Madness and At Ease.
General Paste, an anthropomorphic tube of toothpaste, rides on a storm cloud that rains down green rock candy that he tries to get you to eat. A river of rock candy flows from a large mouth into a river that ends by going down a grate. Scattered throughout the room are 32 decayed and jagged teeth minions waiting to ambush you with a plaque attack.
If your teeth touch the rock candy, d32 of your teeth rebel, but you do gain one of the following advantages. Roll 1d6: 1) Gain 1d6 hit points. 2) Your fingernails turn into sharp rock candy claws for the day. 3) Energy boost to take a 2nd action. 4) Speed boost for an additional 10-feet of movement for an hour. 5) Happiness: you can counteract ennui or sadness effects. 6) Allows you to speak in the language of the teeth… any teeth.
A dentist office area contains a dental chair to strap you to and extraction tools mounted on the wall. Hidden inside the chair is the magic item: Insurance Card. This card can force a cleric to heal you, or you can use it in other bureaucratic ways like filing claims against monsters who hurt you.
Teeth minions: Teeth who rebel grow legs & arms equipped with hammers or pliers, and rip themselves from your mouth. They grow to a foot tall and attempt to liberate the rest of your teeth with the rock candy or through violence. These teeth speak their own adorable tooth language. There are rumors of the legendary candy of this room that can give you XP, but it’s a lie spread by the teeth minions like door-to-door salesmen.
If you have no teeth left the rock candy has no effect and the teeth minions will leave you alone.
